Sunday Meditation

Introduced to us at SOH by then member David Bishop several years ago, this weekly meditation satsang (fellowship) follows the method of Passage Meditation developed by Sri Eknath Easwaran, founder of the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation (BMCM) in Tomales, California, and meditation teacher for over 40 years. In each weekly satsang, we read from books written by Sri Easwaran, watch a 15-minute video of one of his lectures, and then meditate on memorized inspirational passages from the world’s great wisdom traditions, providing positive, practical, uplifting guidance for living in our modern world.

Irrespective of one’s individual cultural, religious or non-religious background, passage meditation is an effective method by which to train and still the mind, helping to relieve stress, stay calm, heal relationships, release deeper resources and to live out one’s highest ideals.
